Week 2 - Editing Using Windows Movie Maker / iMovie08


  • Divide into groups of 4
  • Each group will be given a product as well as a target group
  • Create a 30-60 second commercial to present in front of the class
  • The class will try to guess the product and the target group

    • While watching the next two video clips, be aware of the pacing, transitions, and the meaning they convey. Remember that transitions are sometimes just used to enhance the look of a piece.

  • When students edit, they will need to be able to
    • Navigate the program (menus and timeline)
    • Capture video footage
    • Drag video clips into the timeline
    • Trim clips to cut out what they don't want and move around
    • Add Music, Titles and Transitions
    • Export the final product

  • Menus at the top (look in each menu to find important/key functions).
  • Timeline (two kinds).
  • Viewer or where you can watch what is in your timeline.
  • Editing/Cutting tools
